September has a lot to offer metal fans this year. Not only is Metallica's legendary Black Album being released as a remastered version on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, but Iron Maiden are also releasing a new album. But more about that later.
The Metallica Blacklist
The year 1991 - some of you might still remember it. Metallica's fifth album was released and with it some of their greatest hits. The album is full of hits: Enter Sandman, Sad But True, The Unforgiven and of course Nothing Else Matters. After three decades, the album is now being remixed and comes with plenty of demos and live clips from the legendary time in the 90s. In addition, a cover version will be released in October. Artists have re-recorded their favourite songs from the album. Ghost and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers are also included. Some artists who you wouldn't expect to be on the album have also participated, including Miley Cyrus and Elton John.
Iron Maiden - The wait has an end
Iron Maiden fans have had to wait longer than ever before - a whole six years have passed since the release of "The Book of Souls". Now the British heavy metal legends are back with their new album "Senjutsu".
The first single to be released was "The Writing On The Wall". The video is full of details that the fans had a lot to discover. Of course, band mascot Eddie is not to be missed. The band delivers what you expect from them - classic Maiden sound straight to the front. Singer Bruce Dickinson sounds like in his best days and hits every note. The band takes us on a journey through time, because their unique sound is just as timeless today as it was in the 80s.
Are you looking forward to the new Iron Maiden record and what do you think of Metallica's cover album?
