Blind Guardian Kids Merchandise
If you look at the national metal scene in Germany, there is no way around Blind Guardian. Already in 1985 they got together in Krefeld to record their first demos. After first attempts to go their first two albums were received quite benevolently by the metal community. Their music was still very much prescribed in classic speed metal, first hymnic influences could be heard from the third album on. Through the orchestral arrangements and fantasy lyrics they managed to find their own new niche in the metal scene. Singer Hansi Kürsch often pays homage to J.R.R. Tolkien and Stephen King in his lyrics.
Their big breakthrough came with the album "Somewhere far beyond", with which the band was able to achieve direct success all over the world. On this album singer Hansi Kürsch deals with Stephen King's saga about the gunslinger Roland and the dark tower. Especially in Japan the band had great success and therefore released their live album "Tokyo Tales" in 1993.
Blind Guardian Metal from Middle Earth
Over time, the orchestral passages came to the fore musically and have been the band's figurehead ever since. Lyrically the band dives deeper and deeper into the Tolkien world and releases whole concept albums around the stories in Middle-earth. For their album " Beyond The Red Mirror" the band has undertaken a mammoth project. Together with three different choirs and a 90-piece orchestra they recorded the album. That really blew everything up. Because no metal band has ever dared to do something like that.
