Judas Priest Merchandise for real Mini Metallers
Started in 1970 in a suburb of Birmingham, Judas Priest first tried his hand at the blues. After initial restraint, however, they then turned to harder music, fortunately for everyone. Their big breakthrough came in 1980 with the legendary album "British Steel". Named after guitarist Glenn Tipton's employer at the time, the album subsequently served as a blueprint for many heavy metal bands and Judas Priest became the forerunner of the "New Wave of British Heavy Metal". Many more masterpieces followed like "Painkiller", "Jugulator" or "Firepower".
Heavy Metal Icon Rob Halford
The band's figurehead has always been their singer Rob Halford, who stood out from the rest of the heavy metal scene at the time not only because of his unique voice but also because of his extravagant style of dress. He was one of the first musicians to openly deal with his homosexuality in the 80s. In interviews he often spoke about how he felt excluded and misunderstood by society, which is why he let his negative feelings flow into his music and lyrics. In the heavy metal scene, which is dominated by heterosexual men, he found it particularly difficult to come out, but he nevertheless received much acceptance and approval for this step. He became an icon across all scenes and uses his standing above all to stand up for acceptance and against discrimination.
