Merchandise for Metal-Kids
Starting out as a school band, Bullet for my Valentine attracted attention early on. Even before their first album they were on stage with international bands. And they never shied away from the comparison with bigger bands. It was clear to them that they wanted to distinguish themselves from all the other bands of the metal scene at that time in some way. The recurring lyrical themes were too boring for them, which is why they went into songwriting with a higher standard in the future.
With their first album "The Poison" they made their international breakthrough. Like no other they managed to combine hard songs with emotional lyrics and with the unique voice of singer Matt Tuck. In the following years they gained a loyal fan base on countless tours with bands like Metallica or Iron Maiden. And they never shied away from being a bit of a tease. One of their first international tours ended early for the band after vocalist Matt Tuck repeatedly criticised the headliner band and was therefore excluded from the rest of the tour.
Without a break to the top
Although they apparently were on tour all year round, they still found time to write new music. Their debut release was followed by further albums like "Scream, Aim, Fire", "Fever" or "Venom". Although they are still high up in the charts due to their more poppy songwriting, they have never lost their original harshness.
